About the Role
The Service Unit Department Manager RN is responsible for managing a large unit or multiple units, overseeing staff to provide the highest quality of care and maintain compliance with all relevant regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage the operations of a large unit or multiple units
- Ensure staff provide high-quality care and follow all regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to establish and maintain patient care standards
- Act as a patient advocate and resolve care issues
- Develop and monitor budgets and resource allocations
- Identify strategies to reduce costs and improve quality of care
- Develop and maintain clinical practice standards
- Screen, interview, hire, train, and maintain staff competency
- Resolve human resource, labor relations, and risk management issues
- Implement and monitor departmental policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience in management/leadership roles
- Minimum five (5) years of supervisory experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or health-related field, OR four (4) years of related experience
- Registered Nurse License (California)
- Basic Life Support certification
- PALS, PEARS, and/or ACLS certifications may be required
- Knowledge of Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other regulations
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
Preferred Skills
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in an outpatient care setting
- Clinical specialization in area of practice
- Master’s degree preferred
Pay range and compensation package
Based on Experience $228K
